The short stories in this book were much easier of a read than a lot of his novels, but some of the stories toward the end got a lot more typical in the Faulkner sense of the word where you had to go back and read a paragraph a 2nd or 3rd time to make sense of it/5.

I really enjoyed this book, as Faulkner wasn't long-winded in the various short stories selected for the book. That was a reason I didn't like "The Bear." I also enjoyed how some of the short stories connected to each other by having the same characters show up/5.
